Stefan 2025

Stefan Leggin is grateful to have lived in Brentwood for 10 years.  Knowing your neighbors and having a personal stake in the well-being of your community has inspired him to serve our town, including three years as vice mayor. Brentwood is full of hard-working individuals who want to make a better life for themselves, and elected officials have the opportunity to help their community in real and long-lasting ways.

Serving as vice mayor, Stefan developed meaningful community programs to support working families and individuals, and help our businesses grow. Working as the town’s ARPA Program Manager, Stefan was responsible for a budget of 2.3 million dollars that directly invested in our residents through emergency housing assistance, storm water management, “aging-in-place” for our seniors, facility and façade improvements for our businesses, and classroom purchases for our local schools.

Serving as the public works liaison for the town, Stefan and the Brentwood Police coordinated with the State of Maryland to create improvements to state-owned roads in our town, including new stop signs, new cross walks and new striping to slow traffic and  increase pedestrian safety.

A champion of environmental justice, Stefan saw the flooding that residents experienced on 40th Place and coordinated with Prince George’s County to clear the storm ally that was neglected for a decade, safeguarding the life and property of our residents.  Pocket Park, now a thriving demonstration garden for native plants, was rescued by the hard work and determination of Stefan and community volunteers, providing new green space.

A long-time musician and supporter of the arts, Stefan introduced the “Summer Concert Series” which created dedicated funding for the performing arts for the first time in our town’s history.  Looking to unlock the hidden talents in our community, Stefan also created the annual “Porchfest” celebration which showcases performing artists.

Before his work for Brentwood, Stefan enjoyed a life-long career as a hospitality professional. His decades of experience in the private sector brings a wealth of practical experience to municipal government.  Managing multi-million-dollar operations on a tight budget and leading a staff of over 70 people with diverse backgrounds towards a common goal has prepared Stefan to serve our town.

If elected, Stefan has pledged to devote himself full-time to serving our town.  Our residents live full-time lives, and they deserve a full-time mayor who can manage our town with integrity, efficiency and collaboratively.

On Monday, May 5th, vote Stefan Leggin for Mayor. WWW.STEFANLEGGIN.COM
